Logan’s Journey of Personal Transformation

School Stories

There are few things more powerful than the testimonies of what God is doing upon the earth! Testimonies are much more than encouraging words or offerings of hope. Rather, they are powerful proclamations that release breakthrough to all who hear and receive them.

The Bible says that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelations 19:10, NASB). When we share a testimony of Jesus’ kind nature, we are prophesying that He wants to demonstrate His goodness again! In fact, when we share a testimony about healing, transformation, freedom from fear, or anything God has done, we make others aware that God is present and able to do the same thing again in that very moment.

At Bethel School Planting & Development, we believe in and honor the power of the testimony. To partner with heaven today and release greater measures of breakthrough to your school, we want to share a testimony of personal transformation from a student. During his time at a supernatural school of ministry, Logan Hill experienced radical encounters with the Father’s heart that were life changing. He now lives from the powerful revelation of sonship that was first sparked through the community he experienced at school. As you read Logan’s story, we pray that each of your students would truly know their worth in the Father’s eyes!

Logan’s Journey

I began college in September of 2007 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. I was quickly plugged into a campus ministry, where I surrendered my life to Christ and started to serve regularly. In the summer of 2008, a revival swept across our campus impacting hundreds of people, which included missionaries, pastors, and students like myself. Afterwards, I felt an insatiable hunger for God unlike I’ve ever experienced up to this point. In that season, I prayed for the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to me in a deeper way.

That very week of praying, I was invited by a close friend to attend a home group started by Charlie and Judy Owens. We met weekly for live worship, sermons, Bible study, and activation in hearing God’s voice. The Owens built a community on the foundation of honor where everyone was loved and respected, regardless of their past. My hunger for God at this time was intense and only increasing. In this community, I felt empowered to confidently prophesy, give words of knowledge, and pray for healing as a part of a normal Christian lifestyle. I found freedom in the truth that spiritual gifts were not just reserved for the leaders of a church or revival movement; they were also for Spirit-filled believers like me.

The home group soon turned into a school called Legacy School of Supernatural Ministry (LSSM). As the school used Bethel’s School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) Video Curriculum, I got to hear life-changing messages from Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Danny Silk, and many other speakers. These leaders articulated the gospel in a way that confronted the performance mindset I had developed while being busy in ministry and not knowing my identity as a son of God.

Stepping into Sonship

For a long time, I had been trying to find significance in what I did for God and others. Because I was not convinced of my value in the Father’s eyes, I subconsciously worked to feel valuable through ministry. However, nothing that I did was enough to satisfy my heart’s cry for approval. Teaching, worship leading, evangelism, and discipleship all left me empty and disappointed. The turning point happened one evening at the LSSM as I watched Kris Vallotton’s message on sonship entitled, “From Paupers to Princes.”

A month or so after hearing Kris’ message, a minister from Australia came to prophesy over our class. Many people in the room, including myself, were still relatively new to the prophetic. Little did I know, I was about to have a dramatic encounter with God that would transform my life forever. The minister said that he felt moved by the Father’s heart to pray for the younger people in the class. He called me forward and did a prophetic act where a “ring” symbolizing sonship was put on my finger. As he prayed, a tangible warmth surrounded me and it felt as if God was giving me a giant hug.

I heard the Father say to me, “You are my son, in whom I am well pleased,” and, “There is nothing you can do to make Me love you more or less.” It was an echo of the words that Jesus heard before beginning His earthly ministry (see Matthew 3 and Mark 1). Though the voice was not audible, it shook me to the core of my being. The experience was so impacting that I physically felt lighter the next morning. It was as if a burden was lifted off my shoulders! From this point forward, I started to see myself not just as a servant, but as a son of God. What a joy it was to finally know that my significance is not found in what I am doing, but in what Christ has already done for me on the cross!

I am thankful beyond words for my experiences at LSSM. For the first time in my Christian walk, I became truly convinced of my significance in the Father’s eyes and no longer strived for it. This truth was perhaps the most important thing I learned while attending school. After my time at LSSM, I felt the Lord calling me to attend BSSM in Redding, CA. My Huntsville community sent me out in 2014 with their love and support. Since being here, my relationship with God has only grown deeper. But I will never forget that it all started in Huntsville, Texas.

  1. Wow! What a great testimony. I love how a life was transformed and the testimony painted a picture of the power of God moving through a school of ministry.
