As school leaders, you have probably had your fair share of questions or odd looks when you share that your school equips students in the supernatural. Many have probably asked, “What do you do in a school of supernatural ministry?” Maybe you knew exactly what to tell them. Or, perhaps you struggled to know what to say and even fumbled over your words. Either way, we want to share some thoughts with you today that will help you communicate the supernatural with joy and confidence to a wondering world!
The Supernatural
The Bible is full of countless stories of supernatural activity. Moses split the Red Sea so the Israelites could walk across and escape the Egyptian army (Exodus 14:21). An angel of the Lord got Balaam’s attention by speaking through the mouth of a donkey (Numbers 22:28). Daniel’s friends were forced into a blazing furnace by Nebuchadnezzar, but weren’t burned (Daniel 3:26-27). Jesus fed 5,000 people with a few loaves of bread (Matthew 14:19), walked on water (Matthew 14:25), and was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:6).
When you look at Scripture, it is difficult to overlook the fact that we serve a supernatural God who does supernatural things! Because we are created in His image, we too are designed to live supernatural lives that bring the kingdom of heaven to earth. In Mark 16:17-18 , Jesus tells us,
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.” (NIV)
Clearly, Jesus desires for His followers to walk in the supernatural. But how do you communicate this truth to the world?
3 Tips to Communicate the Supernatural
#1 Be Confident
The reality is, people may judge you for going after the supernatural. The Bible tells us that we are foreigners in this world (Psalm 119:19), which means that we won’t always be understood. But we want to encourage you: stand in confidence as a son or daughter of the King! When people see the confidence you carry, they will be compelled to listen even if they don’t immediately believe. Confidence will carry your voice to places that insecurity never could.
#2 Be Humble
Humility is huge. It doesn’t matter how “right” you are or how many Bible verses you can quote; people won’t listen to you if you aren’t humble. In this regard, it’s important to communicate gently (but still boldly!) to those who have questions about the supernatural or your school. Always check the motivation of your heart when speaking to people and keep love the priority. Remember, it’s not your job to convince them of the truth; it’s your job to show them love and let the Holy Spirit lead them into truth.
#3 Be Grounded in Truth
As believers, our communication must be grounded in the truth of God’s Word. It’s easy to be excited about miracles, signs, and wonders but have no idea how to intelligently and clearly communicate them to the world. We encourage you to get a strong understanding of the truth about the supernatural by reading your Bible, listening to sound messages on the topic, and discussing it with your friends, family, or leaders. As you stand in a firm place of truth, the authority of heaven will back up your words!

In addition to these tips, we want to share some unique resources with you from BSSM’s Co-founder and Senior Overseer, Kris Vallotton.
