Staff Resources Pick: Developing Sonship

School Structure

Throughout the Bible, God affirms our identity as a beloved son or daughter. When we received Him, Scripture says that we are given the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15) and become members of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19). We are reminded that we are part of God’s family in 2 Corinthians as He says, “And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:18, ESV). We experience freedom from sin and shame as we embrace our identity as His own! Such revelation also empowers us to live out our destinies as ambassadors of His kingdom throughout the earth.

Knowing and walking in the revelation of sonship is foundational to kingdom living. From the belief that we are His chosen, beloved children, we can access heaven and carry the commission to reveal the goodness of God in every walk of life. Embracing our identity positions us to partner with our Father and demonstrate His presence and power out of intimacy and rest. From this place, striving and performance cease as we encounter His kind nature through signs and wonders.
