Serving Our Community

BSSM is part of an apostolic house, and we believe in launching our students into the practical application of what is taught in class. Throughout the year, students are equipped and sent out to impact different spheres of culture—to be naturally supernatural everywhere, regardless of vocation.

City Service

City Service activates students for hands on ministry by sending students into the communities in and around Redding. Students learn to walk out a supernatural lifestyle of evangelism and service. Goals for City Service include learning to share your testimony and leading someone to Christ, confronting fears in evangelizing to strangers, learning to pray and heal the sick, and giving encouraging prophetic words. Students learn more about City Service once school starts.

Second Year City Service provides a greater emphasis on leadership development, and students are expected to lead by activating and empowering their teams.

CITY PROJECT

City Project blesses the employees and families of Redding through community work projects such as raking leaves, mulching, trimming trees, and collecting trash. This ministry is both a City Service as well as a Revival Group activation in which Revival Groups are assigned to a rotation of two City Projects during the year.

city wide impact

Bethel has grown in favor with city leaders and our service to the community continues to make lasting impact. In 2015, 12,000 hours were given towards city projects, 13,732 people received prayer in the Healing Rooms, 2,760 prophetic ministry sessions were given, and 12,000 breakfasts were served to the homeless on Sunday mornings.

“As we look to the future, we are overwhelmed with hope.”

Francie Sullivan, Former Mayor of Redding
